View Personalised Round StickersHow to choose stickers for jars
The shape of the jar decides almost everything, so start by measuring the flat or gently curved area where the sticker will sit, then choose material and finish.
Why use custom jar stickers?
A plain jar of chutney at a market stall looks homemade in the wrong way. A well-designed sticker makes the same product look ready for a farm shop shelf or a gift hamper.
Stickers keep packaging flexible. The same stock jars can hold several products, with a different sticker telling customers what is inside and giving each flavour its own personality.
For home producers, jar stickers make gifts special. A personalised design with a name and a message turns a batch of Christmas preserves into something friends remember.
Popular uses for jar stickers
Jar stickers are ordered for:
- Jams, marmalades and chutneys – side stickers and lid circles.
- Honey – designs for beekeepers selling at the gate or market.
- Candles in jars – branding and scent names on glass.
- Spices, herbs and teas – small stickers for kitchen or retail jars.
- Sauces and pickles – producer stickers for delis and farm shops.
- Wedding favours and gifts – personalised jars for guests.
Materials, shapes and sizes for jars
White vinyl gives bright colours and copes with handling and fridge condensation. Clear film lets the colour of jam or honey show through, while paper gives a traditional, handmade feel on dry-stored products.
Round jars curve in one direction, so a rectangle wrapped around the side sits smoothly. Avoid tall stickers on jars that taper at the shoulder, as they can crease; a shorter sticker or an oval usually fits better.
Lid stickers are typically circles a few millimetres smaller than the lid top. Tell us the lid diameter and we will size the circle to leave a neat edge.
Applying and using stickers on glass
Glass must be clean, dry and at room temperature before a sticker goes on. Jars filled hot should cool fully first, because warm glass and condensation stop adhesive gripping evenly.
Smooth the sticker from the centre outwards to avoid bubbles. On strongly curved jars, a flexible vinyl is more forgiving than paper, which can lift at the edges.
If your jars carry ingredients, allergens or best-before dates, checking the required information is your responsibility, and we print exactly what you approve. A small matte panel can leave room to write a batch date by hand.
How jar stickers help your products sell
Shoppers at markets and farm shops decide quickly. A clear product name, an attractive design and a consistent look across your range make it easier for customers to choose and to come back for another flavour.
Branded jars also travel as gifts. When a jar of your honey is handed to a friend, the sticker tells them who made it and where to buy more.

Jar Stickers questions, answered
What size sticker fits a standard jam jar?
Jar sizes vary, so measure the height of the straight side and the circumference. Send us those figures and we will suggest a sticker size that fits without creasing at the shoulder.
Will jar stickers survive the fridge?
Vinyl copes well with chilled storage and condensation. Apply stickers before refrigerating, when the jar is clean and dry.
Can I put a sticker on a hot jar?
No. Let jars cool completely first. Warm glass and condensation prevent the adhesive from bonding properly.
Can you print stickers for jar lids?
Yes. Round lid stickers are usually sized slightly smaller than the lid top. Tell us the diameter and we will set the circle to match.
Should I choose clear or white stickers?
Clear stickers let the product show through for a minimal look, but light colours can be less visible. White gives the strongest colour and easiest reading.
Can jar stickers include ingredients and allergens?
Yes. Checking what information your product needs and that it is correct is your responsibility, and we print the artwork you approve.
How long do jar sticker orders take?
Jar sticker orders take 10–12 working days after the PDF proof has been approved, so plan around market days and seasonal gift periods.
