How retroreflection works

Retroreflective material sends light back towards the source it came from. When a car’s headlights hit the sticker, the driver sees it brighten, while someone standing to one side sees very little change. They need a light source to work. Reflective stickers do not glow on their own and are not luminous in total darkness.
