Materials, shapes and sizes
3D door stickers are printed on vinyl at the full height and width of the door. A matte finish is usually the better choice, because a glossy surface catches ceiling lights and reflections instantly give away that the scene is flat.
Your image needs plenty of resolution. A photo that looks sharp on a phone may blur when stretched to door size, so use the largest original file you have, or artwork you own or have the rights to print. Our free check will flag anything too small.

Choosing the right door and surface
Flush, smooth doors give the most convincing effect. Panelled doors can take a mural, but the raised mouldings create shadows and edges that interrupt the image, so choose a scene with less fine detail if yours is panelled.
Surface matters for adhesion. Smooth painted wood, laminate and uPVC suit vinyl well, whereas freshly painted doors should be left to cure fully first. Removing vinyl later can lift paint that is poorly bonded, so test a small area if you are unsure about the finish.
Do not apply a mural over fire door signs, closers or intumescent seals around the edge. If the door is a fire door, check what may be applied to it before ordering.

What image works best for a 3D door sticker?
Scenes with a strong sense of depth, such as a path, corridor, staircase or view through an archway, give the most convincing illusion. The file needs to be high resolution at full door size.
Can I use a photo from the internet?
Only if you own it or have permission to print it. Many online images are protected by copyright and are too small for a door anyway, so your own photos or stock images you have the right to print are the safer route.
Will a 3D door sticker work on a panelled door?
It can, but the raised panels will break up the picture. Flush doors give a far more realistic result, so consider a simpler scene if your door has deep mouldings.
How do you handle the door handle?
Measure from the floor and the door edge to the centre of the handle, lock and any spy hole. We cut openings in those positions so the mural fits around them.
Can the sticker be removed without damaging the door?
Vinyl can usually be peeled away with gentle warmth, but the result depends on the paint or finish underneath. Soft or poorly bonded paint may lift, so test a corner first and let fresh paint cure before applying.
Should I choose a matte or gloss finish?
Matte is recommended for most rooms, as it hides reflections from windows and lights that would otherwise reveal the surface is flat. Gloss can make colours pop in darker spaces.
